As its name suggests The Railway pub is situated a stones throw from the Railway station in Hale. The Railway is a traditional style pub, with a warm and friendly atmosphere. The large rear patio with wall heaters and outside lighting make it a popular spot even on those chilly days.

The Railway has been proudly run by the same family for 30 years and current owner, Alan Hough, maintains the traditional values that have kept the Railway a key part of village life. There is a strong Irish link which was formed when Alan’s mum, Bridget who was born in Co. Mayo, previously ran the pub. Alan has invested in a weatherproof outdoor TV and recently added SKY HD and SKY 3D to the already impressive TV set up in the pub. All major sporting events including football, rugby, cricket, tennis, boxing and golf are screened live and we are happy to show any other live sporting events if requested.

Hale continues to thrive as a popular village for fine dining and evenings out with friends. We serve home cooked food from 12 until 2.30pm (Mon - Sat). A selection of quality wines from around the world and a choice of real ales are available.
