The Railway’s most popular and oldest Society is RIGS. The “Railway Inn Golf Society” was formed in 1985 by a dozen or so regulars of the Railway and now boasts over 50 members who compete at different courses in the North West once a month. www.Rigsgolf.co.uk

The Ladies darts team represent the Railway in their local league playing matches every Monday during the darts season.

The Railway Anglers club was formed in 1995 by a group of regulars. The Anglers fish as often as possible. The most popular events are the Pro-am match and the annual 5 day Angling competition. Contact Barry Pickford on 0161 980 4259 or email Annette@Pickford.co.uk

Poker night (Tuesday) is always well attended by regulars with 20 – 30 players entering. The entrance fee is small with the emphases on enjoyment and banter. First Deal is 8.15pm.

The Chess Club is a small group of regulars who play occasionally on a Monday night during those cold winter months.
